EAA Chapter 1027
Monthly Meeting:
Chapter meetings typically occur on the second Sunday of the month at the clubhouse at Willits Airport/Ells Field, at Boonville Airport or another announced location. Lunch, beverage and dessert are provided for a $7 donation to the chapter. All pilots of experimental and certified aircraft as well as people interested in aviation are welcome to attend!

HISTORICAL AIRCRAFT DISPLAYS
  Historical Aircraft on are display to the general public at these locations and times:
  • Little River Airport (KLLR): Third Saturday of each month, 9AM to 1PM
  • Willits Airport: Second Sunday of each month for EAA chapter meetings.
  • Ukiah Airport: The first consecutive Friday and Saturday of each month from 10AM to 2PM April through November
  • Boonville Airport: Third Saturday of each month from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call (707) 895-2075 for information.
  • Ocean Ridge Airport, Call 707-328-2191
  • Lampson Airport - Each Wednesday - 9:30 AM to 1:30PM.
Experienced pilots and aircraft owners are available at these events to answer questions.

EAA 1027 CLUBHOUSE is located on Ells Field (028, CTAF 122.8, Rwy 34, R.H.) on the mountain two miles northwest of the City of Willits which is approx. 120 miles North of San Francisco on Hwy 101.  Runways are 16 (primary takeoff, downslope, left pattern) and 34 (primary landing, upslope, right pattern) with PAPI (5-clicks). EAA B-17 "Aluminum Overcast" Coming This Fall!

The historic EAA B-17G Flying Fortress "Aluminum Overcast" is coming to Ukiah airport this fall for a four day tour stop, September 17th through the 20th, brought to you by Willits EAA Chapter 1027.

This type aircraft helped us win World War Two, and now area residents have a chance to fly in this beautiful, fully restored plane. To honor our WWII vets, we are offering a free ride on the B-17 to them, available to them only on Thursday, September 17th, and only by contacting eaglenestnorth@juno.com prior to the arrival of the plane. All other vets and military active duty members are invited to a ground tour of the plane, free of charge.

General admission flights will be available from 10 AM to 1 PM Friday , September 18th, Saturday, September 19th, and Sunday, September 20th. Ground tours of the plane will be available in the afternoons from 2 PM until dark on those dates. Ground tour tickets available on site at Ukiah airport during the tour.

Pre-arrival of the aircraft discount tickets are available for purchase now online at www.b17.org or by calling 1-800-359-6217. Ask about the EZ Payment Plan for purchasing flight tickets. The flights have been selling out before the arrival of the plane at other locations, so get your tickets early.

EAA Ford Tri-Motor

2015 West Coast Tour

Experience the golden age of aviation. The EAA Ford Tri-Motor is touring the west coast for the first time. America's first all-metal airliner is making tour stops all up and down the west coast, and will be offering rides and ground tours. Individuals and groups will have the opportunity to fly in this nostalgic airplane of the '20's and '30's. 5th Annual Boonville Spring Fly-In

This year all those flying into this popular event will be treated to Boonville's newly widened and resurfaced runway. Willits EAA Chapter 1027 and Kirk Wilder and the Boonville wing of Chapter 1027 will be offering another great barbecue with all the trimmings, dessert and beverages. Free certificates of display will be given to all those who participate in the Historical Aircraft program. You might take home some cash too, as a winner in the 50/50 cash drawing. The fly-in will be Sunday, April 12th Date change, Sunday April 19th from 11 AM to 3 PM. Everyone interested in aviation is welcome.











4th Annual International Wings and Wieners Fly-In

The best tube steaks west of the Mississippi, prepared exquisitely by EAA Chapter 1027 Executive Chef Jim Harden along with potato salad and a beverage will again be free this year. For the first time, the event will feature a spot landing contest, with cash prizes to the winners. Bring the family and anyone interested in aviation. Certificates of display will be available for free for those participating in the program. The event will be Sunday, July 12th from 11 AM to 3 PM at the Ukiah Airport.











Benbow Inn Brunch Fly-Out

Treat yourself and your companions to a luxury brunch on October 11th at the historic Benbow Inn, just south of Garberville, CA on the Eel River in the heart of the California Redwoods. This famous hotel has catered to pilots since their beginning in 1926 with aircraft landing on the golf course road and taxiing to the hotel.

Dine on the beautiful patio where Spencer Tracy, Alan Ladd, Clark Gable and others dined on the always excellent food with excellent service.

We won't be landing on the golf course, but will be landing at the Garberville airport, O16, where you and your guests we be picked up by Benbow Inn staff and transported to the hotel, and back.

The first airport pick up will be at 10:30 AM for the 15 minute ride to the hotel Sunday morning, October 11th.

Spruce Goose Fly-Out

Don't miss this opportunity to participate in the overnight group fly-out to the Evergreen Air and Space Museum in Mc Minnville , Oregon to see the historic SpruceGoose. Have your picture taken at the controls where Howard Hughes sat when he flew the plane. Peer into the cockpit of the super spy plane, the SR-71 Blackbird, and also see all of the space vehicles and equipment used in the US conquest of space. Enjoy a great group dinner party at McMinnville's popular Golden Valley Brewery and Restaurant. There will be group accommodations and ground transport. The 4th Annual Boonville Salute To Veterans Fly-In

EAA Chapter 1027 is honored again to join Capn' Kirk Wilder and the Boonville wing of 1027 to host the Salute To Veterans Fly-In honoring all vets who have served, and who are now serving. Join us in honoring them at a great barbecue lunch with a lot of hangar flying and a chance to take home some cash with a 50/50 drawing. We hope to have another guest appearance of the Livermore Van's Air Force and their fleet of RV's. Bring a vet with you, so we can honor them. Certificates of display will be available to all participating in the Historical Aircraft program. The event will be Sunday, November 8th, from 11 AM to 3 PM.
